Why Twisted Innards?

In December 2013 my dear friend, Stephen Cambria passed.

Stephen and I first became friends at “SUNY-Binghamton”(now known as Binghamton University) in the Spring Of 1981.  We both resided in the same dorm though on different floors.  While I had known of Steve since freshman year, I didn’t actually meet him until the spring of my sophomore year.  Interestingly, I always had a negative impression of him before me met.  I blame this on what was reported to me by upperclassman that lived on my floor.

Through mutual friends we met, hung out and over time our relationship evolved from a casual connection to a close friendship.

You see during those college years I looked up to Steve (although I never would have admitted it to him!).  His irreverent sense of humor and sense of the absurd attracted me and drew me closer to him.    One of Stephen’s greatest gifts was his ability to create titles to works, plays and songs that had yet to be written and indeed would never be written.  Twisted Innards is one of those titles.  It was my favorite and instinctively I knew that somehow, someway I would use Twisted Innards as a title to some future project that I would one day create.

What does Twisted Innards mean?  I am not sure.  I am not even sure if Stephen knew what it meant at the time he created it.  Nevertheless I have named this blog Twisted Innards in Stephen’s honor.

Twisted Innards will attempt to address, comment upon and bring to light a variety of topics in a disparate
manner embracing the sense of the absurd that I learned from my friend.
